Metamorphosis I, 9 x 12 in., ink and graphite (a drawing process that I love)
This drawing process was a blast because I felt like I was making everything up as I went along. I can still play with lighting and shadow, and the patterns add interesting details and complexity that’s fun to experiment with in compositions.
I also love the whole idea of metamorphosis. Change is inspiring to me, but at the same time, I really love Celtic knot work. This is a combination of transformation and circling back to the beginning where it all began.
Could also be fun to experiment with this in writing. I know Franz Kafka owns the concept of metamorphosis when it comes to storytelling – however – what about the idea of constant change that brings the character back to the beginning? Just a thought, what do you think?
